October is ADHD awareness month
It’s just about half way through October and it’s been a busy month so far raising awareness of ADHD in our community.
Highlights so far:
I’m so excited to be running the Connected ADHD Classroom program this month for teachers & educators. The program will be delivered in a hybrid format (combined self-paced learning and group coaching). This has been a dream of mine for years because I know it’s the missing piece for families who need support with schooling for our children with ADHD. 70% of teachers* are aware of having insufficient knowledge around ADHD so this program will provide the relevant information & strategies in the least amount of time.
Places are closed for this term but sign up here if you would like to be the first to know dates for next year.
Trinity College hosted a parent night for Parents for the Inclusion of Neurodivergent Children (PINC) last Thursday. I was part of the panel answering questions about how best to support our children with ADHD in school. It is so great to see a school taking initiative and creating an inclusive community for parents to support each other. I was able to share my son’s journey through school, which is one of struggle, support and ultimately success!
On the same day, I was in Mandurah to speak to the Community and share ADHD knowledge. Thanks to the City of Mandurah and Lakelands Library, we enjoyed a lunch afterwards and a chance to chat with members of the community. I find people are so grateful for informed information.
